Dr. John C. Colwell
Dr. Colwell was born in Indiana and grew up north of New York city. He graduated from the College of Wooster in Ohio, and then pursued his doctorate degree from New York Chiropractic College. After teaching at Western States Chiropractic College, the lure of Southern Oregon brought him to Ashland to begin his practice in 1978.
Always striving to learn, Dr. Colwell trained in diversified techniques, including Gonstead, Activator, Thompson, Applied Kinesiology, Roduroku electrical acupressure, and botanical medicine.
For seven years, he served on the Board of Chiropractic Examiners of the Oregon Chiropractic Association, and their Peer Review Committee. He was a board member for the Oregon Chiropractic Physicians Association and is currently a member of the Oregon Chiropractic Association.
Living in the Rogue Valley and practicing here for over 32 years has allowed him the opportunity to help thousands of hurting people. Whether from automobile accidents or work injuries, or something as simple as too much gardening, Dr. Colwell has earned a reputation for excellence in patient care.
As a former runner and a current bicycle enthusiast, he has developed interests in treating sports injuries and alleviating foot and leg pain through custom orthotics. He enjoys exploring Southern Oregon on his bike and sharing life with his wife, four children, their spouses, and grandchildren.

Dr. P. Scott Roberts
A native Oregonian, Dr. Roberts has lived his life appreciating all the natural beauty it has to offer. A love for nature and a yearning to share that knowledge, spurred him to train as a volunteer naturalist for the Portland Parks and Greenspaces. He is an avid hiker and backpacker in summer and snowshoer in the winter.
Growing up in Albany, he was a radiologic technologist for 20+ years and witnessed countless people in the emergency departments that he felt could have been better served through chiropractic. The fact that chiropractic can directly affect peoples' health in a personal way, is what originally drew Dr. Roberts to the profession. He believes strongly that if a person is in alignment, the body can expend its energies in keeping the person healthy.
In November of 2009, he moved to Ashland, knowing of the physical attributes of Southern Oregon. However, he discovered the true nature of this town is not limited to its physical beauty and he has found the strength, diversity and acceptance of the people who live here like no other place he has lived.
Grateful for the unique sense of belonging to this community, Dr. Roberts found that the mission of Rotary fit his personal lifestyle ideal of, “service above self.” Rotary now provides him with an opportunity to take part in something much larger than himself. He enjoys sharing his gifts with others.
Dr. Roberts says, “Every day brings about new amazement about the physical and spiritual beauty of the Rogue Valley and the people who live here. Again, I say "thank you."
